AL DUCA D’AOSTA – MESTRE

Al Duca d’Aosta is the first multi-designer label group in northeast Italy with a hundred year old tradition in the market place. Its seven stores have an average surface area of 1000 sq mts.  Having been their architects since 1998 is a great incentive for us.
The retail space is situated in Piazza Ferrero, a square with a pedestrian thoroughfare gallery dividing the store on the ground floor into two minor areas, one for men and one for women.
The idea for this store came from the concept of INTEGRATING the square into it, by bringing the store to the same level as the square and using the same stone for the floor as for the paving. CONTINUITY between exterior and interior turns the ground floor of the whole store into one big window onto the city.

The three floors above are dedicated to sales, and are designed to resemble a sophisticated loft, an open and easily transformable space. Furnishing and fittings are mobile so that space can be used in different ways depending on the situation.
